anniversary gifts for couples Introducing Core Cuts from Core’dinations diy home decoration

I have always loved working with Core’;dinations cardstock. I love being able to emboss and sand the cardstock to create custom looks. Sometimes though, I want to be able to put a layout together, without getting out an arsenal of tools, or spending a whole lot of time.

Enter the Core Cuts cardstock pad.

I am in love.

This paper pad is heavyweight cardstock, that comes pre-cut into frames, bordersanniversary gifts for couples, and? shapes and comes pre-embossed!

I put together a layout using only the pad (and a scrap of white paper for my journaling block) in very little time.

It looks like I spent hours. Let’;s be honest, I wouldn’;t have been able to even make this layout, without the pad- there aren’;t 12×;12 embossing folders in existence!

Here are the supplies I used:

The first thing I did was select the papers I wanted to use, and remove them from the paper pad.

I chose this pink inner-frame:

And a green outer-frame. Then I sanded each piece.

The paper pad has sheets of coordinating cardstock that aren’;t pre-cut or embossed to be used as a base for your projects.

I chose an orange sheet, and adhered my selected frames to the orange base.

See how easy this is?

The next frame nests perfectly.

For the next step, I chose to add machine stitching to my layout. This is completely optional. I just like the look, and the inner frame provided a fantastic embossed line for me to follow! Straightest stitching I have ever done!

I zig-zag stitched too. Isn’;t it pretty?

To add the title, I die-cut letters the same color as my background. When I sanded them, the core color of the cardstock edged the letters. Layering color on color gives a subtle embossed look to a project.

I wanted to make some notched edges on my layout to “;hang”; my photos and journaling block from.

I measured three inches down from the top of my layout, and marked it.

Then, using a circle punch, I cut a half-circle where the page was marked.

Repeat on the opposite side, and then wrap the layout with baker’;s twine.

When the baker’;s twine was secure, I used washi tape to attach my journaling block to the twine, and also my photos.

One of the best things about this cardstock pad is that it has pre-made embellishments!

It would be perfect to take on a crop, where you are limited on space.

I simply popped out the coordinating flowers, and sanded them.

I used a glue-dot to attach the flowers to a paper clip.

I added a flower center from white cardstock, and popped the fancy, looks-like-it-took-a-lot-of-time embellishment on my layout!

Total time: 22 minutes. Including the machine stitching!

And there are many more elements in the pack, and endless combinations!

I hope you do yourself a favor, and pick up one of these Core’;dinations Core Cuts pads to try.

I am pretty sure you will be in love too.
